John is one of the founding principals of Command Commissioning. John serves as principal in charge of sustainable systems commissioning, Continuous Commissioning®, and low voltage systems commissioning.
He is responsible for peer design reviews and the quality control procedures for drawings and specifications. In addition he oversees commissioning at the functional and integrated systems level of complex HVAC systems for mission critical facilities.
John earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Master of Business Administration from Dallas Baptist University. John is a Certified Commissioning Process Management Professional (CPMP), a LEED professional and a professional registered engineer in over 25 states and districts.
John's project experience includes over 20 years as an international specialist consultant operating in low voltage building systems. He provides expertise in the implementation of emerging technologies, project master planning, project programming, contracting methods, system evaluations, operational evaluations, commissioning, budget development and assists in specification writing, and construction administration processes. He is an innovator in the field and routinely presents new master planning technologies to industry conferences worldwide.
In 1995, prior to founding HMA Consulting, he was Principal for Techcord Consulting Group, Inc., a Project Manager for Dunn Consulting and a Project Engineer for I.A. Naman + Associates.
John is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating & Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), 7x24 Exchange, Building Commissioning Association, U.S. Green Building Council, the Energy Security Council and the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), in which he has held the offices of North Texas Chapter Chairman and Regional Vice President.
