Retro Commissioning
ASHRAE defines Retro-commissioning as a process that is applied to existing facilities that were not previously commissioned. Retro-commissioning follows the same basic process as new building commissioning and LEED Existing Building falls in this category of commissioning.
Retro-commissioning has been found to provide upwards of 15% whole building energy savings and 1.1 year average payback time. – Building Commissioning: A Golden Opportunity for Reducing Energy Costs and Greenhouse Gas Emmissions
